CURIOSITIES
The film is based on a Jewish legend with a similar story. A version of the legend is included in the "Shivkhey Hoari, a library collection of stories about a known mystical indoctrination called Kabbalah Rabbi Yitzchak Luria Ashkenazi. In this legend, someone put a ring on his finger hovering over the floor saying their wedding vows as a joke, so being married to a woman of the underworld who claimed her husband. The case was brought to a rabbi who declared that since man had not spoken with feeling vows, marriage was not real. However, to ensure that women would be free to marry someone from the underworld, the man must give a formal divorce according to Jewish law.
The project was created by Tim Burton to his wife Helena Bonham Carter. He was also dedicated to the memory of Joe Ranft. This is the first movie Cula stop motion that Tim Burton directed or produced from "Nightmare Before Christmas" in 1993, twelve years ago. The film took fifty-five weeks into shooting, during which it took to design and shoot one hundred and nine thousand four hundred forty thousand individual animation frames. This is a stop motion film quite innovative, being the first to be edited using Apple Final Cut Pro. It was also the first film to use, being performed in its entirety, commercial digital still cameras, 31 cameras Canon EOS-1 Ds MARK II SLR with Nikon lenses.
The puppets were built with steel skeletons covered by silicone skin. The height of these varied between twenty and eleven inches, and some of the sets were so big that the organizers had no problem to enter them to manipulate the puppets. The puppets did not use common industry standards, nor Replaceable heads s (as was the case in "Nightmare Before Christmas") or replaceable mouths (as was the case in "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of vegetables"). Instead heads were used adjusted mechanisms hidden keys, one for each puppet. Although this allowed for more subtlety and delicacy, but proved to be an even tougher task than previous systems. One facilitator reported having had recurring nightmares in relation to this innovative system. Equal number of puppets were created to film more scenes in less time. In the case of Victor and Emily fourteen puppets were created, while Victoria is created thirteen. The Lord Bonejangles and his band of skeletons were inspired by the animated short titled "The Skeleton Dance" of 1929, as well as Cab Calloway and his band when they appeared in rotoscope in Betty Boop cartoon. The pianist of the Underworld is based on the movements of Ray Charles, and has his own glasses. Bonejangles's character is based on the famous dancer Bill Robinson, who was nicknamed "Bojangles." Originally
Albert Finney would play the role of Grandpa Joe in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in 2005, but when Tim Burton was added to the project this just wanted to Johnny Depp as the star of the film. Because this, Burton offered the role of Lord Finney Finis Everglot as an apology. Danny Elfman wrote the music for Bonejangles with the idea of \u200b\u200banother singer's interpreted, but not finding a suitable voice, Burton asked Elfman to sing and he accepted. When Victor plays the piano in this is a plaque with the inscription that reads "Harryhausen" which is a reference to stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen call. The voice of the worm and facial gestures are a reference to Peter Lorre.
The film was a financial success, collecting around fifty-three million dollars domestically, and about one hundred and seventeen million worldwide. He was also received with very positive reviews from critics. He also received an Oscar nomination as best FILM animated ula 2005, but this fell on "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the vegetables."

PERSONAL NOTE I believe that in recent years, Tim Burton has lost much of the charm that had in his early films, and although I enjoyed, I always thought it was lacking something essential. This film is discussed here is the only exception of this last time. Here we have Tim Burton hundred per cent, with a story that manages to combine humor, romance, and an inevitable dose of nostalgia and sadness.
The aesthetic is great, and I loved how much detail, the most obvious of them the use of color. We have a living world dominated by shades of gray and others but always off, while the world of the dead have an absolute color, which is at least ironic.
not only presents the romance between young, but him as the adults around them have forgotten those feelings in favor of more materialistic feelings. A lthough if you doubt the character of Emily is the one that did touch me further. Emily symbolizes something that we often refuse to consider that sometimes love does not come, and that this is not about being a good person or not. Simply, life is, and there are times when what we want most is not intended to cross our path. Emily takes a personal journey in which initially willing to get what he wants even if not reciprocated, but finally puts right to their personal desires.
Although I am not convinced that this film than its predecessor "Story Before Christmas, "is another exceptional work that manages to captivate and engage the viewer. I just hope it is a sign that Burton has not forgotten how to make outstanding films in favor of a more commercial film, because ultimately this film was a box office hit and has those elements of many of his recent films have lacked and which prevent the level from which they can this excellent director.
